Tarek Abou Ali, a licensed attorney in Egypt, joined Abou Ali in 1986 and is currently the claims director. He holds a bachelor of commerce degree from Ain Shams University, accredited postgraduate studies in business administration from the American University in Cairo, and an LLB from Cairo University. Mr Abou Ali has vast experience and renowned ability to handle all aspects in shipping-related claims including containerized cargo, pollution, collisions, salvage, total loss, groundings, shipboard fires to general shipping disputes and environmental claims. He regularly represents clients’ interests in matters involving Port Authorities, the Suez Canal Authority, Government Agencies and Departments and the Environmental Affairs Agency. In addition to his marine, shipping and ports-related work, he is trained and qualified as a legal accountant and has worked extensively in the financial aspects of shipping operations, supplies, finance and claims.
