Mohamed Gamal Abou Ali acquired and possesses particular experience and expertise in the areas of maritime, shipping and transport law and regulation. He is Licensed to appear before the Supreme Court of Egypt (Admitted since 1952). He is a member of the Port Said Chamber of Shipping (Former Chairman of the Board).
He is the founder and senior partner of Abou Ali. From 1952, Gamal Abou Ali practised at the Port Said office through 1964 when he was employed by the Suez Canal Authority finally managing two of its affiliated companies, from which he gained personal experience of its operations. Since 1976, Gamal Abou Ali specialised in shipping and maritime work both in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He has contributed to the establishment of a number of Court of Cassation and Supreme Constitutional Court precedents in the field of maritime law and regulations. Some of these precedents have been codified by the legislature in the currently applicable Maritime Law No. 8 of 1990.
